Where to Find Free Art
Finding free art can be a great way to add creativity to your projects without spending money.
All the free pictures and images I have for you today are all from public domain; meaning they don’t have a copyright law attached to them. They are free to download, use, and even sell! I’ve searched through some of my favorite websites to make them available to you so you don’t have to spend hours searching.
If you want to find your own; here are some excellent places where you can access free art legally, including images, illustrations, and more.
How to Search for Free Vintage Art
So once you’ve visited one of these websites, you simply need to use keywords for the type of art you are looking for. Simply enter the keywords you are looking for, such as “Autumn Painting” or “Harvest” and hit search. Once you found a picture you want, just click download in your preferred size or resolution.
How to Resize Prints
Once your art is downloaded you might need to adjust the size. The downloaded art might be in a size you can’t use or that won’t print well.
Determine what size you want your art to be. I like to have a frame selected for the art so I know exactly what size I want to resize my prints to. I resize my images on Canva. There is a free and a pro version that is very easy to use. You can use the free version to resize your art with ease.
- Open Canva and create a free account, if you don’t have one.
- Now click “Create new design.”
- Select “custom size.”
- Enter the size you need for your frame – 8×10 or 5×7, etc.
- Upload the image and adjust the image to the blank page.
- Save the image to your computer and it’s ready for printing.
