Five Neutral Fall Table Setting Ideas

| |

Autumn is a great time to host a dinner party. Here are five neutral fall table setting ideas for your next fall gathering that will take you from September through Thanksgiving.

One of my favorite things is to create a table setting. There is something so relaxing about creating a tablescape. I love knowing that I will host family and friends and enjoy making the table setting special. It doesn’t have to be fancy or filled with expensive dishes or elaborate centerpieces; you are creating a memory, not trying to impress.

These fall table decor ideas are so beautiful and inspiring. When it comes to decorating fall tables, it doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive! Let’s look at these neutral fall table setting ideas.

Neutral Fall Decor

While traditionally with fall colors we think of oranges, reds and yellows, I believe that you can easily evoke the feeling of fall using colors that blend into your existing decor.

Fall neutrals are beautiful, soothing and never go out of style. Soft earthy tones of warm browns, soft greens, and creams is a more subtle and understated way to usher in the fall season. When you stick with neutral fall decor or a softer palette it makes it easier to keep our everyday decor out because it pairs so well when it’s neutral.

Love how effortless and cozy neutrals can be!

Late Summer Table Setting Ideas

While the beginning of September isn’t technically fall; many people see this time of year as the fall season. In reality, it’s actually late summer and it’s a gorgeous time of year to host an outdoor dinner depending on where you live. We love this patio table on our new stamped concrete patio.

In early September the weather begins to cool a little and it’s perfect for dining al fresco. It’s warm enough to enjoy sitting outside comfortably without being too hot. Keeping your table low key with neutral colors is perfect for a late summer table. This block print tablecloth was the star for this late outdoor table setting.

Neutral October Table Setting

With late August and September behind us; October is also another great month for hosting a fall dinner. While it might begin to get a little chilly in the evening, if hosting outdoors, offer guests blankets to keep them warm.

This table is simply decorated with thrifted green dinner plates and white ceramic pumpkins. The thrifted copper goblets finish the setting with a simple fall centerpiece with simple branches and wheat stems

Easy Autumn Table Setting

With this simple autumn table setting the centerpiece is the focal point. I love the blend of the roses, fall branches and berries in this lovely vintage ceramic compote. Taupe slim candles with vintage brass candlesticks, rust floral tablecloth and rattan placemats tie the table together seamlessly.

A few pine trimmings from the yard down the center of the table and soft fall branches incorporated into the roses set the tone for this simple fall tablescape.

Outdoor Harvest Table Setting

Once again, on the back patio of our barndominium, I set this elevated rustic table setting that embodied fall. Incorporating candlesticks, copper goblets, neutral tablecloth and this tree branch hung above to give the space a little something extra.

Loved using a napkin fold to create these little pumpkins at each table setting. The pumpkin napkin fold is easy and adds a nice touch. The cinnamon stick creates the perfect stem.

Thanksgiving Table Setting with Flowers and Candles

With Thanksgiving around the corner, I’m thinking more and more about the holidays and plans with friends and family. The fun thing about fall tablescapes is they can be as elaborate or as simple as you want. I tend to add a little more to my Thanksgiving table settings than other fall tablescapes.

This lovely Thanksgiving tablescape was filled with flowers, candles, dried oranges, name cards and gold flatware. I teamed up with Urban Stems to create this floral Thanksgiving table setting. This has been one of my favorites.

Natural and Neutral Thanksgiving Table Setting

A beautifully styled Thanksgiving table sets the tone for the meal and enhances the spirit of gratitude. The good news? You don’t have to break the bank to achieve a stunning setup!

I opted for neutral decor and moody table ware. I found these black plates at the Dollar Tree and the price…well, perfect. Reaching to nature I incorporate branches from the yard, pears and rosemary for a natural touch.

Neutral Fall Table Setting Decor

If you don’t know by now I am a huge thrifter. I love to shop at thrift stores and flea markets. Often you can find entire sets of dishes, glasses or placemats.

If you notice from these six different fall table settings, you see a lot of the same items used to create these tablescapes. Feel free to reuse but change things around so the look is fresh and new. Budgets are tight and storage space might be limited. It’s ok to reuse decor and tablecloths without always buying something new.
