One of my favorite ways to show someone that I care about them is to feed them. I love to host dinner parties for the sake of getting to know other people, or letting those I do know how much I truly care about them. The meal is important for sure, but I also think the tablescape helps set the tone for a lovely time.

How to Create a Fall Tablescaps
Let me share some tips for creating a cozy and inviting fall table with you. Hopefully you will find inspiration and then create your own fall tablescape that will make your guests want to linger a little longer even after dinner and dessert have been served.
Shop Your Home for Your Fall Tablescape
The first step to creating a fall table is to go around your home and look for items you already have. There is no need to go out and buy a ton of brand new plates, napkins and decor. Use what you have. The idea here is not to impress your guests, but to make them feel special and welcome.
By utilizing items you already have on hand, you are creating a look that is layered in character. Have fun and get creative with what is in your home.
Shop The Thrift Store
I can’t say it enough…I love to thrift. Paying high prices of brand new items really irks me. Thrift stores have such a great variety of items making it fun to put together a lovely fall table. Not only does thrifting save you money, but it ensures that your table doesn’t look like everyone else’s. Do you get tiered of seeing everyone’s homes all looking the same because they all shop at the same store? Break the mold and go hunting for something different.
The plates, the little pumpkins and the brass goblets are all thrifted finds over the years and I love how it makes my fall tablescape unique.
Choose a Color Palette For Your Fall Tablescape
First off, start by selecting a warm and earthy color palette that represents fall. Colors like warm orange, rich reds, rustic browns, and olive greens work well.
I found these dark green plates at the thrift store a few months ago and I loved the green. Green is all the rage right now, for good reason, and it’s also a great color for fall! While green is my main color, I kept the rest of this fall tablescape rather neutral.
Add Texture to Your Fall Tablescape
Every room needs texture and a nicely designed tablescape needs texture too. This can be added in a variety of ways. By using different decor pieces you will create a layered, rich, and textured look. Think linens, runners, overlays, place mats, napkins, etc.
My fall table setting has four elements that bring texture: The round rattan placemat, gingham napkin, the leaf and wheat stem centerpiece and the ceramic pumpkins on the plate. By adding texture, you create a table setting that is more interesting and appeals to your guests senses.

Fall Tablescape Centerpiece
For me, no table is complete without a centerpiece. If creating a centerpiece makes your nervous; don’t let it. As you can see, I used a wooden box that I had, added some leaves from the yard and some faux wheat stems from the attic to create this fall centerpiece. Is it an aware winning centerpiece? No…of course not, but it does the job.
You can also create a DIY Floral Centerpiece with $10 Grocery Store Flowers that will look amazing. Always keep your centerpiece low so that it makes it easy for guests to talk to each other across the table.
Remember, the key to a beautiful fall centerpiece is creativity and embracing the natural elements that define the season. Feel free to customize your centerpiece to match your personal style and preferences by adding in candlesticks, pumpkins, pillar candles or just simple greenery down the table.
