Barndominium Christmas
Christmas in our barndominium is my favorite time of year in this space. A barndominium Christmas feels cozy, rustic and nostalgic.
With the pine walls and stone fireplace it just takes adding some pine garland, brass bells, lit trees and plaid decor to make this space feel so festive. Our barndominium is on the back of our seven acres and rented as an AirBnB, but during Christmas week we reserve the space for our family and friends to enjoy together.

My goal for the barndominium was a feeling of a rustic Christmas while still being elevated and classic. I love that vintage Ralph Lauren Christmas vibe and tried to bring that vision together with a limited budget.
Barndominium Christmas Fireplace
One of my favorite features in our barndominium is the vaulted stone fireplace. This fireplace deserves to be the focal point of this space. The barndominium stone fireplace can be seen as soon as you enter the home and is enjoyed from the kitchen, living room and dining areas.
I wanted to keep it simple but noticeable and gathered several faux real touch pine garland and draped them together for a wow statement. My initial desire was to keep the fireplace more minimal, but as I added more faux pine garland I decided it was the look the fireplace deserved.
I gathered all these brass cow bells and added them in staggered heights under the mantle. The Christmas stockings finished off the fireplace and balanced the brass candlesticks sitting on the mantel.

Barndominium Christmas Tree
When you think about Christmas, you usually think about a Christmas tree and no log cabin style home is complete without a Christmas tree during the season. Well…I didn’t have a tree large enough to fill the space but I had three trees collected over the years. I decided to group them together to create a winter wonderland feel and opted to not use ornaments and keep it simple with just white lights.
One of these days I plan to get a tree large enough to fill the space, but loved how the three trees turned out and at night it was extra gorgeous and cozy too.

Barndominium Christmas Decor
Plaid was my go to for the rest of the decor along with faux pine stems. The trees, fireplace mantle and bells added so much and plaid just seemed to fit a log cabin Christmas feel.
I found perfect, inexpensive plaid pillow covers in a variety of colors and sizes and just mixed them together on the sofas. The red plaid throws were a thrifted find several years ago and were perfect for the space. I love plaid at Christmastime and with the rustic pine walls and a stone fireplace; it was perfect.

Christmas on the Patio
The barndominium front patio is the main entrance point of the home. Since you enter the enclosed patio first, I wanted the feeling of Christmas to envelope you as soon as you walked in the door.
On our front patio I also added a more rustic 6 foot tree from King of Christmas. I added lights, bows and some pine cones to the tree and loved the simple yet elevated look. We ended up with four trees in the home and I loved it.
The patio swing bed also got a generous scattering of the plaid throw pillows and the space felt cozy and inviting. As much as I love the living room; the front patio is my favorite Christmas space in the barndominium.

Barndominium Christmas Bedroom
Our barndominium has two bedrooms; one downstairs and another upstairs. I kept the Christmas decor simple in these rooms as too much decor can feel cluttered for guests.
Some simple faux pine stems, green velvet pillow and wool plaid throws gave the feeling of the season and added a festive touch. Another one of my favorite rooms in our barndominium is the upstairs bunk room with the green vintage spindle twin beds and the framed vintage horse prints above every bed.

Barndominium Christmas Wreaths
Our barndominium wooden doors go perfectly against the black barn exterior walls. Since these doors are large I needed Christmas wreaths that were substantial without costing me a fortune. Making my own wreaths was the best option.
I had these large grapevine wreaths that I purchased on clearance in the spring and some old Christmas garland in storage. I rather deconstructed the garland and used it on the wreaths along with these dollar store plastic bells that I spray painted gold. You can see how I did this on my Instagram reel.
Adding some ribbon gave it a final festive touch. Large Christmas wreaths are costly but you can easily make your own without spending too much.
Christmastime in Our Barndominium
I had so much fun putting this space together for the holiday season and will likely change some things up next season. We enjoyed hosting our family for a few nights, dinner at the dining table and cozy fires in the fireplace.
There is something about a rustic, elegant Christmas that feels so nostalgic and memorable.
