While I an still using some faux stems in our home; I have been swapping these plastic stems out for the real deal. I love the way houseplants have elevated our home and reducing plastics means we are breathing a little easier too. Plus, they plants are not that hard to care for.

I get it; bringing home a houseplant can be overwhelming for some perhaps. You might wonder if you are going to kill it, or maybe it’s not safe around your pets or how will you know how to care for it? Not all plants are created equal, but I’m here to help. I’ve had some of those same fears too, but I’ve got a great round up of indoor plants and there’s bound to be one variety just perfect for you and your home.

The Peace Lily – My Favorite Houseplant
The Peace Lily is one of my favorite house plants. I love the color and shape of the leaves as well as its white flowers. The Peace Lily is prized not only for its elegant appearance but also for the many benefits it brings to indoor spaces.
Peace Lily Plant Benefits:
- One of the best plants for air purification
- Absorbs moisture, making it ideal for bathrooms

Calathea Freddie Houseplant
I love the stunning appearance of this houseplant. The Calathea Freddie is known for its elegant, wavy green leaves with dark green stripes, it adds visual appeal to any space. This indoor plant is a new one for me to grow and incorporate into our home so we shall see how it goes.

I have a lovely Lemon Button Fern sitting at my kitchen sink and it just makes you happy. The name alone; ‘lemon button’ will put a smile on your face. Ferns have always been a favorite or mine both inside and out and this one is so sweet. Its small, delicate fronds with a bright green color make it a charming addition to small spaces and emits a subtle, fresh lemon scent when brushed or crushed.

Where to Buy Houseplants
There are so many places you can buy houseplants from Lowes, Home Depot, local garden centers and even on-line. Honestly, I have purchased all these show in the pictures at Lowes on their clearance aisle and they’ve been great. Some I’ve picked up for around $4 and the most I’ve paid for the larger clearance plant has been around $11.
