Hi, I’m Amelia!

Hi! I am the voice behind Amelia Lawrence Style & Design, which is filled with do-it-yourself ideas for home decor and more.

I was born and raised north of Boston in a pastor’s home where our family budget was tight. We shopped at thrift stores, refinished furniture and received hand-me-downs. My love for DIY, making something from nothing and thrifting was a learned at a young age.

Before graduating high school, my parents went to the country of Albania to minister. This provided opportunity to travel to many different countries and experience a host of different cultures.

After completing college/graduate school; I moved to Washington, D.C. to work on Capitol Hill before getting married. Once our daughter was born, I began working from home part-time for different government agencies while also serving in our church’s music/drama and teen ministries.

Government work came to an end and I began teaching acting/drama and music at our kids’ school full time while serving as church program director.
