Hi, I’m Amy!
Hi, I’m Amy, the voice behind Amelia Lawrence Style & Design, which is filled with do-it-yourself ideas for home decor and more. As someone who loves making their house a home I am inspired by antiques and New England style.
I was born and raised on the north shore of Boston and I grew up with a love for antiquing and beautiful New England landscapes. Being from a ministers home we spent most of our time serving and ministering to others. Our family budget was tight and we shopped at thrift stores and received hand-me-downs before it was in vogue. Now thrifting is all the rage, but trust me…it wasn’t when I was 13! Before graduating high school, my parents went to the country of Albania after the fall of communism to minister. I then went to college and graduate school in Florida before moving to the Washington, D.C. area to begin a job on Capitol Hill. From there I worked for many government agencies and at the Pentagon before beginning my wedding planning and design business in 2015.
After 20 years in the D.C. area our family was ready for a change. Since my husband is from Tennessee we figured it would be a wonderful place to finish raising our family and slow down a bit and be near family for the first time in ages. I wrapped up my wedding business, we sold our home and now I am a stay-at-home mom sharing our country life and DIY projects and decor tips.
In July 2021 we moved to East Tennessee and purchased 7 acres with mountain views, a main house, a barndominium and large workshop/living space.
